New Orleans Office Wins $2.2 Million by Summary Judgement

In a highly contested contract dispute, Leigh Ann Schell of our Firm won a summary judgment in favor of our client, Omni Pinnacle, L.L.C. ("Omni"), against St. Tammany Parish ("the Parish") in the Parish's own backyard. On August 28, 2008, St. Tammany Parish Judge William J. Burris awarded Omni $2.2 million, plus interest and attorney's fees on a Motion for Summary Judgment by the Company against the Parish seeking payments owed under a Hurricane Katrina debris removal contract. The Parish claimed that it was entitled to hold the funds as set-off against amounts in dispute on a separate hurricane related contract.

Following argument, Judge Burris accepted Omni's position, ruling in our client's favor.
