On October 2, 2006, Darren Guillot and Rhea Sheldon of the Jackson, Mississippi, Office obtained a defense judgment on behalf of a corporate officer of a marine rescue and towing corporation before United States District Judge Louis Guirola, Jr., of the Southern District of Mississippi. In this matter, the Plaintiff was seeking damages from the corporate officer alleging that the Plaintiff entered into a bareboat charter agreement with the Client relating to the lease of a marine vessel. The Plaintiff also asserted claims against the corporate officer for negligent and intentional breach of the bareboat charter, and negligent transport. The claims against the corporate officer were presented to the court at trial. Following the presentation of evidence, Judge Guirola entered a judgment in favor of the corporate officer, thereby exonerating him from any liability to the Plaintiff. This trial success is another testament of the depth of our trial attorneys and teams at Abbott, Simses & Kuchler. It further reflects the youth of the Firm's trial attorneys and their corresponding experience. Mr. Guillot is thirty-eight years old. Ms. Sheldon is thirty-one years old. |
