On April 7, 2006, Abbott, Simses & Kuchler hosted a seminar entitled, “Asbestos Litigation Exposure Science and Medical Issues,” for all four of its offices, as well as numerous clients, at the Pan American Life Center in New Orleans. The panelists for the seminar included Dr. Robert Jones, who is a specialist in pulmonary medicine, and Debbie Kuchler, a shareholder in the New Orleans office. Dr. Robert Jones' presentation focused on the various diseases and conditions associated with asbestosis and mesothelioma, as well as the clinical and radiographic diagnosis of those diseases. Dr. Jones also addressed the ILO Classification and NIOSH "B" Reading Program associated with the pneumoconiosis evaluation process. Dr. Jones is currently a staff physician at the Tulane Medical Center Hospital. He also serves as a Professor of Medicine at Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans. Ms. Kuchler's presentation was entitled, "Asbestos Exposure Science." Her presentation explored the plaintiffs' and defendants' legal strategies and expert witnesses utilized in asbestos litigation. |
