Managing Director, Lawrence Abbott, was recently offered and accepted an adjunct teaching position at Tulane University School of Law. Mr. Abbott will serve as an adjunct professor, teaching Complex Civil Trial Practice. The course is intended to prepare and train students in advocacy skills for litigation. The principal method of instruction is "Learning By Doing." The students will participate in intensive role playing of simulated trial problems. Subjects covered during the course will include, without limitation, jury selection; opening statements; direct and cross examination; exhibits and demonstrative evidence; impeachment and rehabilitation; examination of expert witnesses; closing arguments; and trial notebook preparation. Mr. Abbott has tried more than 150 cases either to jury verdicts or bench-tried judgments throughout the United States. As an experienced trial attorney, Mr. Abbott will bring in other prominent attorneys and judges to lecture on certain subjects so that students will be exposed to a variety of views and ideas.
