NANCY A. BRECHTEL is an associate with Abbott, Simses & Kuchler. Ms. Brechtel received her B.S. in Psychology from the University of Southern Mississippi, with Honors, in 1998. She attended Loyola University School of Law on a full academic scholarship and graduated cum laude in 2002.

While at Loyola, Ms. Brechtel was a member of both Law Review and Moot Court. In 2000, she served as the brief writer as well as an oralist on Loyola's first place team at the Stetson University International Environmental Law Moot Court Competition. She received academic excellence awards in Civil Law Property and in State and Local Government Law. Ms. Brechtel also served as a teaching assistant. Upon graduation, she was named a William Crowe Scholar.

Ms. Brechtel is a member of the Federal, Louisiana and New Orleans Bar Associations, as well as the Defense Research Institute. Prior to joining the Firm, she actively defended corporations in toxic tort and products liability suits, including class actions and mass torts. She is experienced in complex insurance coverage disputes and commercial litigation. Ms. Brechtel currently practices out of the Covington office in the areas of Toxic Tort Litigation, Products Liability Litigation, Medical Malpractice, Commercial Litigation and Environmental Litigation.
