KENDRA L. DUAY is an associate with Abbott, Simses & Kuchler at the Firm's New Orleans office. She is a member of the Firm's Hiring Committee.
Ms. Duay completed her undergraduate education at the University of New Orleans where she attended on a full merit scholarship. She was a member of Phi Kappa Phi National Honor Society, Alpha Theta Epsilon Honor Society and Phi Eta Sigma Freshmen Honor Society. In December 1994, she graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and received the Distinguished Professor Werner J. Feld Award for academic excellence in graduating with the highest grade point average of a Political Science major. In 1998, she received her Juris Doctorate from Louisiana State University's Paul M. Hebert Law Center and was admitted to the Louisiana State Bar that same year.
Ms. Duay practices in the areas of Toxic Tort Litigation, Products Liability Litigation Environmental Law and General Civil Litigation. Prior to joining the Firm, Ms. Duay practiced in the areas of Products Liability, Drug and Medical Devices, Employment Litigation, Construction Litigation, Gaming Law and Workers' Compensation. In 2004, she attended the International Association of Defense Counsel's Annual Trial Academy at Stanford University.
Ms. Duay is admitted to practice in all Louisiana state courts and the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Middle and Western Districts of Louisiana. She is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, New Orleans Bar Association, Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel, New Orleans Association of Defense Counsel, Defense Research Institute and the Junior League of New Orleans.
Ms. Duay actively serves on the Board of Directors for the New Orleans Bar Association, Young Lawyers Section. She was co-chair of the 2005 New Orleans Bar & Grille which is an annual cooking competition among New Orleans law firms to raise funds benefiting the New Orleans Legal Aid Corporation. She also chaired the 2004 Resume and Interview Committee. In 2001, she was a speaker at the Louisiana State Bar Association's Summer School for Lawyers in Sandestin, Florida.
A native New Orleanian, Ms. Duay currently resides in Old Metairie and her personal interests include collegiate and professional sports, off-shore fishing, traveling, music and anything LSU.
