ERIC M. CARTER, SR. is an associate with Abbott, Simses & Kuchler and practices in the Firm’s New Orleans office. Mr. Carter earned his Juris Doctorate in 2008 from Loyola University of New Orleans College of Law. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of New Orleans in 1996, and a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Akron in 1998.

Mr. Carter’s practice areas include General Civil and Commercial Litigation, Toxic Tort Litigation, and Environmental Litigation.

Mr. Carter served as President of the Student Bar Association and Coach of the Tulane Invitational Moot Court Competition during law school. Additionally, he was named in “Who’s Who Amongst Students” and was selected as a student member of the St. Thomas More Inns of Court. 

Mr. Carter brings a wide variety of experience with him to the practice of law, including experience associated with his training and practice as a Louisiana licensed Real Estate Salesperson and Mortgage Loan Originator, service as a United States Presidential Management Fellow under President William J. Clinton’s Administration, and employment as a Program Analyst for the U. S. Minerals Management Service.

Mr. Carter is involved in a variety of community service activities. He currently serves as a member of the Jefferson Parish Alliance for Good Government Organization, and as a Board member of the New Hope Community Development Corporation. 

Mr. Carter is a proud U. S. Navy veteran and served as a Petty Officer during Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm. He lives with his wife and two children in the New Orleans metropolitan area.
