Mr. Abbott's primary career focus is trial work. One of his recent jury trial efforts involved defending the interests of a prominent publisher in a construction defect case. Another, he defended the interests of a respiratory protection manufacturer against claims arising out of occupational exposures to respirable crystalline silica. Mr. Abbott's primary trial involvement focused on the medical and scientific issues and the experts involved with that particular case.

Most recently, Mr. Abbott participated in two jury trials defending the interests of a chemical manufacturing company arising out of alleged community exposure and contamination to dioxins and heavy metals. Although Mr. Abbott was actively involved in the defense of the industrial hygiene practices, his primary involvement concerned the medical and scientific issues in the case, specifically those connected with causation.

As his practice has developed, Mr. Abbott has had a particular focus on working with experts, including, but not limited to, toxicologists, epidemiologists, oncologists, pulmonary disease specialists, industrial hygienists, and economists.
